Haas’ driver line-up has been finalised for next season with the announcement that Esteban Ocon will join the team in 2025. Now with Toyota’s backing, Haas had a brand-new lineup featuring Alpine departee Esteban Ocon and British hotshot Oliver Bearman, both fresh from three cameo appearances in 2024.

Guenther Steiner leaves role as Haas Team Principal with immediate effect as Ayao Komatsu promoted. Guenther Steiner has left his role as Team Principal of Haas F1 Team, with Director of Engineering Ayao Komatsu stepping up to replace him. Steiner has led the team since the American squad entered F1 in 2016. Steiner, 59, filed a lawsuit against Haas Formula, LLC last spring over alleged unpaid commissions from 2021 to 2023 — which allegedly violated his final employment agreement with the F1 team — and unauthorized use of his name and likeness.
Why was Haas driver fired?
He made his final Formula One start in Saudi Arabia, withdrawing from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with COVID-19. His multi-year contract with Haas—alongside Russian sponsor Uralkali’s—was terminated for the 2022 season following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, resulting in two years of arbitration and legal proceedings. The hearing ruled that Haas owed $9m of the $13m sponsorship but that the American company was within its rights to terminate the deal. Haas did terminate their agreement with Uralkali in March 2022 following the country’s invasion of Ukraine two-and-a-half years ago.
