Charles Hurst has eight sites across Northern Ireland and employs close to 900 staff. Some sales staff and business managers may be affected by the cuts which were announced internally on Tuesday. It comes after Charles Hurst’s parent company Lookers was taken private by its new owner Global Auto Holdings. Lookers is a British car dealership chain in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It represents multiple brands, and is based in Altrincham. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange until it was bought by Global Auto Holdings, a sister company of Alpha Auto Group, for £465.The Lookers Group, which includes the Northern Ireland Charles Hurst chain of dealerships, is to be acquired for £465m by Canadian company Alpha Auto Group, an Ontario-based car dealership chain.
