Why is the 1983 Corvette so rare?

There were so many quality problems with them it was decided to halt production until they could be corrected. The C4 Corvette sold well and this is part of the reason prices are so low. In total, GM shifted 358,180 Corvette C4 models over the 12-model-year run, making it a not-so-rare sight on the roads.C4 Corvette Last on our list is, arguably, the rarest Corvette ever produced, for more reasons than just its one-off production. It’s also the only 1983 Corvette made, as the C3 Corvette generation ended in 1982 and the C4-gen didn’t begin until 1984. So, this sole ‘Vette was produced in the meantime.
