Originally founded in 1911, Charles Hurst has successfully grown to become Northern Ireland’s leading automotive businesses. Now part of the Lookers group Charles Hurst continues to offer the quality service and wide range of brands enjoyed by customers over the past 100 years. In 1996, Charles Hurst was bought by the Lookers Group, one of the top motor retail groups in the UK, which was also established in the early 1900s. After the acquisition, Charles Hurst retained its trading name and, together with Lookers, the company continues to thrive.Charles Hurst has eight sites across Northern Ireland and employs close to 900 staff. Some sales staff and business managers may be affected by the cuts which were announced internally on Tuesday. It comes after Charles Hurst’s parent company Lookers was taken private by its new owner Global Auto Holdings.
